Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

If you are not happy with something you have bought from me, I want to put it right. This page explains how, and what your legal rights are.

The short version

The rest of this page is the detail.

Your legal right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day after your order arrives to cancel it, without giving any reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

This right applies to everything, including sale items. Two exceptions are set by law: sealed food and similar goods that have been opened cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, and digital downloads cannot be cancelled once the download has begun.

My 30-day guarantee

On top of your legal rights, I give you 30 days from delivery to change your mind about a physical item I sent to you. If it comes back to me unopened and in a saleable condition, I will refund it in full, no questions asked.

This is more generous than the law requires, and it is an extra rather than a replacement. Your statutory rights always sit underneath it.

Salt and other food items

Salt is a food, so hygiene rules apply. If a bag or tub is still sealed, you can send it back and I will refund it. Once it has been opened I am afraid I cannot resell it and so cannot take it back – unless there is something wrong with it, in which case see the next section.

Faulty, damaged or wrong items

This is different from changing your mind, and your rights are stronger.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not:

In these cases I pay the return postage, and an opened packet is no obstacle. Just email me, ideally with a photograph, and I will arrange it.

eBooks and downloads

You will be asked at checkout to agree that your cancellation right ends once the download starts. That is a legal requirement for digital products, and it is why I cannot refund an eBook you have already downloaded.

If you have bought an eBook and not yet downloaded it, email me within 14 days and I will refund you in full.

If a file will not open, arrives corrupted, or is not the book described, tell me. I will send a working copy or refund you, whichever you prefer.

How to start a return

Email me at graeme@resourcesforlife.net with your order number and a line about what has happened. There is no form to fill in.

I will confirm the return and give you the address to post to. Please wait for that before sending anything, so we do not lose track of it.

Who pays the postage

How and when you get your money back

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. I process them within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or within 14 days of you cancelling if there is nothing to return. In practice it is usually a good deal quicker.

Once I have sent the refund it can take a few more days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank. If a week has passed and you still cannot see it, email me and I will send you the Stripe confirmation.

Products sold by other companies

A few listings in the shop link out to products sold by someone else. If you bought through one of those links, your contract is with them, so their returns policy applies and you will need to contact them directly. Tell me anyway if you have had trouble — it is useful for me to know.

Need help?

Just email me. I read my own post.
