The True Culprit Behind Mass Shootings

The first thing I’m going to dismiss is those knee-jerk responses we’re fed after a mass shooting – it’s the guns, the video games and mental illness cited as the usual scapegoats. Mass shootings are not the product of a single factor but a grotesque symptom of a culture that has nurtured alienation, grievance, and a morbid fascination with violence.

There’s a particular American obsession with firearms – an archaic fetish that masquerades as freedom while ensuring only more bloodshed.

America, that great, noisy, self-mythologising experiment in individualism, has more guns than it has people. Switzerland, by contrast, is a nation of quiet precision – of clocks, chocolate, and compulsory military service – where firearms are common but gun violence is not.

The difference? Rules. The Swiss treat guns like they treat their trains: regulated, orderly, and predictable. America, on the other hand, clings to its firearms as if they were an extra limb, an extension of its constitutionally sanctioned self. Here, the gun is not just an object but an ideology, a birthright, a talisman against tyranny.

And so, in this land of the free and the home of the heavily armed, a firearm can be acquired as casually as a hamburger – no papers, no training, no questions. Just the reassurance of cold steel, and the peculiar, persistent belief that liberty and lethality are two sides of the same coin.

But guns alone don’t explain the pathology. We should turn our attention the loneliness of modern life, the internet’s role in radicalising disaffected men, and the failure of societies to instil a sense of belonging.

It’s worth noting that bthese shootings are almost always committed by men – men whose entitlement, resentment, and existential drift find expression in destruction.

As for the politicians who offer transparently insincere “thoughts and prayers,” their hypocrisy is laid bare and they deserve the mocking they get. The real cause of mass shootings is not a mystery – it is a society that refuses to look at itself honestly, preferring comforting lies to painful truths.

And yet there’s one aspect we need to address more than anything else……

We mustn’t lose sight of the drugs

I’m quoting from a piece my friend Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby wrote some while ago:

“After 30 years, the truth is now known—Eli Lilly, the makers of Prozac, secretly paid off plaintiffs in a court case following a mass shooting incident. Prozac was and is the number one deadly type of drug that sends people crazy and triggers aggression and murderous violence. It was known to do so by the FDA when the drug was first reviewed.

That agency went rogue a long, long time ago. It takes no responsibility for launching killer chemicals on the population. In fact, the original FDA examiner said NO to the drug: it caused aggression and violence. He knew that. But he was overruled. The drug came to the market anyway.

The plaintiffs suing Eli Lilly were families of the victims of Joseph Wesbecker, a man who went on a deadly shooting rampage in Louisville, Kentucky. He killed 8 and injured 12. It was a critical moment in the history of these drugs because they had been reported to cause violence. If Eli Lilly lost the case, that could be the end of a marvelous gravy train for the industry (as of this writing, 1 in 5 US citizens are on some form of psychiatric medication).

But the trial was rigged. Eli Lilly was exonerated at the time, absolved of any blame for murders by the jury. But it was not an honest trial. Eli Lilly shamelessly (and criminally) gave $20 million in secret bribes to potential witnesses in another trial, which could have gone badly for them at the critical moment.

Not only was Eli Lilly bailed out and escaped consequences. The drug too was “exonerated” and now it’s difficult to get the bent psychiatric profession to tolerate the idea that their stupid drugs are causing mass murders. Prozac and other SSRIs KILL people.

Eli Lilly vigorously shielded the illegal and corrupt payment for more than two decades, defying the Louisville judge who fought to reveal it because he said it swayed the Wesbecker jury’s verdict.

That heroic judge, Circuit Judge John Potter, suspected that Lilly bribed plaintiffs and their lawyers before the jury verdict. He uncovered evidence of bribery, and fought Eli Lilly for years but failed to obtain adequate proof of the terms of the Prozac payoff deal. Lilly succeeded in keeping its criminal action from a judicial proceeding.

As is Big Pharma’s usual strategy, they also trashed the judge and ruined his life, for his pursuit of the truth (Jon Rappoport. www.nomorefakenews.com).”

Prozac drugs aren’t the only potential contributor to mass shootings. I would expand that list to include any, if not all, anti-depression medication, the long-term side-effects of which include…..well, depression.

On Sept. 14, 1989, Joseph Wesbecker walked into a Louisville print shop one morning, a bag slung over his shoulder, heavy with the weight of something dreadful. A semiautomatic rifle, a handgun, the cold metal of intent. By the time half an hour had passed, the shop floor was littered with bodies, the air thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder and something worse – fear, confusion, the raw horror of people who had started their day expecting nothing more than ink-stained hands and the rhythmic hum of machinery. Then, finally, silence. Wesbecker had turned the gun on himself.

The story, as told, is simple: a madman snapped. A convenient, palatable explanation. The kind of thing that fits neatly into newspaper columns and evening news reports. But madness, real madness, isn’t something that arrives overnight like an unwelcome houseguest. It brews, festers, lingers in the corners of the mind. And by all accounts, Wesbecker hadn’t been that man – until a month before, when a doctor had handed him a little bottle of Prozac and told him it would help.”

I won’t list the others here but there are at least 40 deaths linked to Prozac, Zoloft, Ritalin, Paxil, Effexor, Celexa and other pharmaceuticals and SSRIs, a class of antidepressants.

Read John Noveske’s website on the links to drug and school shootings, in which he names the victims and their respective pharmaceuticals. Surprise, surprise…..John died in a car accident shortly after posting this article on Facebook. The post is republished as a historical record only as TREBUCHET were not in a position to review the veracity of John Noveske’s assertions.

Draw your own conclusions.
